Aligners Cons

Even though aligners offer better aesthetics and patient satisfaction, they have some limitations. Cons of Aligners-

• Aligners are costly
• Dependence on patients’ cooperation and willingness to wear the aligners
• Some cases need attachments to be bonded on teeth surface
• Use of temporary anchorage devices may be required in severe cases
• Caution to be excises in severe cases
• Though less than fixed appliances, root resorption can still occur with aligners
• Concern about plastic burden on environment
